DevOps / Automation Engineer – Home Office
About the Project
The client is seeking an experienced DevOps / Automation Engineer to support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and enhancement of its CI/CD ecosystem.
The environment is built around an on‑premise deployment of Azure DevOps Server (in place since 2015) and includes significant use of scripting, Azure DevOps Pipelines, containerization platforms, and Infrastructure‑as‑Code principles.
The consultant will focus on sustaining and improving the CI/CD infrastructure, ensuring stable, secure, and optimized delivery pipelines for the client ’s mission‑critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Azure DevOps Administration:
Maintain, upgrade, and optimize Azure DevOps Server and Azure DevOps Services; manage agents lifecycle. - CI/CD Pipeline Engineering:
Create, template, and maintain build and release pipelines; automate deployment processes. - Automation & Infrastructure Support:
Develop automated deployment workflows; support day‑to‑day operations including server, application, and environment deployments. - Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC):
Implement and enhance Terraform-based provisioning and configuration management. - Deployment Management:
Establish and maintain standardized deployment procedures across multiple systems. - Monitoring & Reliability:
Monitor CI/CD infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and ensure system reliability. - Technical Assurance:
Participate in technical reviews, solution design, and architecture validation. - DevOps Practices:
Apply industry best practices-automation, feedback loops, fail-fast mindset, continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
Professional Experience
- 9+ years overall experience in ICT (developer, sysadmin, software engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, etc.)
- 5+ years in systems & IT operations
- 3+ years working with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps Server preferred)
– including pipelines creation, maintenance, agents lifecycle - 3+ years working in Agile environments
- 1+ years hands-on experience with Terraform (design & implementation)
Technical Knowledge (Mandatory)
- Deep understanding of Azure DevOps Server architecture and agent lifecycle
- Excellent knowledge of Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines (templating, YAML, automation)
- Strong grasp of DevOps principles: CI/CD, automation frameworks, operational efficiency, feedback loop design, fail-fast workflows
- Good knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code workflows
Desirable Certifications
- RHCSA / RHCE
- Terraform Associate / Terraform Professional
- Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ‑400)
