EC Business Analyst L(5-8)

For out client EC we are looking for Business Analyst

1. DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS

Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:
• Collaborate with business users, stakeholders and technical teams to gather and document
reporting/dashboarding requirements.
• Conduct thorough analysis of business processes and user needs to define and design clear and
comprehensive data/reporting/dashboarding requirements.
• Perform data analysis translating the needs into reports and visualisations.
• Work closely with data architects and database developers to design and model data structures that
align with business requirements.
• Translate business requirements to a business case, describing As Is vs To Be and providing a Fit-Gap
analysis.
• Offer customer guidance in choosing and proposing the most suitable solution (reports/dashboards
designs) to aid their daily activities.
• Document clear functional specifications for the development team.
• Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Test and validate the proposed reports and dashboards and its functionalities making sure it
correctly reflects the data from the source systems.
• Implement and oversee data quality standards, ensuring that data is accurate, consistent and
reliable.
• Identify and address data quality issues through collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in the go-life of the validated solution.
• Provide knowledge sharing and expertise towards the internal team of consultants.
• Draft test plans and test scenarios linked to business requirements.
• Collaborate with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) developers to define data integration requirements.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure a clear
understanding of business needs and data requirements.
• Evaluate the impact of changes to business processes on the data warehouse.
• Work with stakeholders to manage change requests and ensure that changes align with overall
business and data strategies.
• Perform demos on the reports and dashboards for the relevant stakeholders.
• Organise workshops with the relevant stakeholders.

2. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:
Must haves include:
• Hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in the context of reporting and data visualization.
• Hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in the context of Qlik Sense dashboarding.
• Proven experience understanding complex information systems and data flows.
• Knowledge of SQL for data exploration.
• Ability to analyse complex business processes, understand the underlying data requirements and
translate the processes into reports and dashboards.
• Deep understanding of the business domain and industry to translate business requirements into
data solutions.
• Ability to bridge the gap between business needs and data warehouse solutions.
• Strong capacity in preparing and documenting clear and comprehensive business requirements.
• Familiarity with relevant technologies such as data integration tools, reporting tools and database
management systems.
• Understanding of data quality concepts and experience designing data quality dashboards
• Capability to speak to business stakeholders to identify data requirements, business rules and
reporting needs.
• Capability to speak with technical audiences.
• Experience documenting business specifications, functional specifications and data mapping
documents.
• Experience collaborating with the development teams in passing and explaining the reporting and dashboarding specifications.
• Experience with the integration of multiple data sources in the data models used for the reports and
dashboards.
• Strong capacity to give high level presentations, demo reports and dashboards.
• Ability to analyse business processes to understand data flows, data sources and data usage.
• Perform data profiling and data quality analysis to ensure the data integrity in reports and
dashboards.
• Extensive knowledge and practical experience of analysis/modelling tools and techniques (use case
diagram, state diagram, entity relationship model etc.).
• Understanding of change management principles and the ability to navigate changes within the data
warehouse environment.
• Ability to develop test cases and perform user acceptance testing to ensure the data warehouse
meets business requirements.
• Ability to validate the reports and dashboards to reflect accurate data and meet business
expectations.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g. RUP, Agile)
• Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, excellent communicator.
• Capability of working in an international/ multicultural environment.
• Good understanding and experience to apply the SAFe methodology.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills

5. Service Delivery

• The services shall be performed remotely in Near-site location allowing to reach the Commission
premises in Brussels within 2 hours.
• Laptop will be provided by the Commission.
• The external service provider may be requested to participate in the meetings with the Commission’s
services in Brussels (and exceptionally in other locations).
