For an International Financial Institution in Brussels we are looking for Functional Analyst Medior Onshore
1. DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS
As a medior generic Functional Analyst, you have at least 2-5 years of experience in managing the functional design of information systems :
– You create the concept and manage the planning for preliminary analysis and design phase;
– You perform the functional analysis of information systems and draw up the functional design after the pre-study;
– You support changes and enhancements from development through production;
– You recommend and implement system enhancements;
– You develop new program requirements and specifications to support specific customer needs;
– You support system upgrades and resolve problems with current systems;
– You analyse service requests to determine feasibility, technological changes, resource requirements and project time estimates.

The ‘red thread’ within our SAFE Data trains is the development of and support for Data Intelligence solutions. We set up Big Data solutions with their specific tools & technologies (Python, Spark, Scala, Hadoop, AWS, …). With the evolution towards a data driven organization, the intensive use of commercial data and data analysis has become a strategic core competence of the Bank.
Together with our business partners we are building and managing the Commercial data. We make sure that we deliver correct and consistent data, compliant with the new GDPR legislation and that can be accessed at the right time in the right form and through the right channel. These new Data Layers will be developed on a Big Data platform with their specific tools & technologies.
For this domain we are looking for additional motivated analysts with experience ( within the Bank) . Experience on the the Bank’s Big Data platform is an extra plus.

As an analyst , you will be the bridge between Business Stakeholder and ICT. Together with the Business you will look for the right objectives, clear out the needed functional requirements and you translate these to a functional design. You work intensively together with the developer towards the optimal solution which is matched with the acceptance criteria, future proof, fully tested/reviewed. (both create and maintain)
To be open to go cross over in responsibilities within the Agile Team.
This includes :
• Data Modelling of the new Data Layers. Important to challenge, advise, support our Business so finally we create a future proof centralized data layer. Discuss this models with SME for review, top quality and futureproof implementations.
• Understanding data models.
• Work with data including GDPR compliant implementation.
• Support our Business stakeholders in creating and designing.
• Deliver clear and high quality functional descriptions based on the business requirement.
• Your analyses are the input for the developers. Also during the build phase you stay part of the team for support, functional testing in all layers until deployment to production and stability on production.
• Help with the stability of our environment
• You are able or interested to grow towards assisting in tasks within a Feasibility Study.
• Describe business requirements, acceptance criteria, analyses, testcases, validation,…
Your strengths
• You have a passion for data and are interested to explore the world of Big Data. Experience in this and in specific technologies such as Hadoop, Python, AWS, is surely and advantage.
• You have hands on experience as an analyst in your present or past jobs
• You want to learn new things in an environment where a lot is moving in a rapidly changing world.
• Your oral and written skills in English are excellent, Dutch is a plus, You can communicate easily with colleagues in the various parts of our organisation.
• You are very self-sufficient. In addition to a training programme, you will acquire knowledge on the job, taking the initiative to look for knowledge and answers.
• You are a selfstarter and fast learner within new concepts, applications and tools.
