We are looking for Senior ICT Infrastructure Architect
About the Project
The agency is seeking a highly experienced Infrastructure Architect to support its ICT Architecture projects. The role focuses on on‑premises and hybrid infrastructures, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards in a complex, multi-system environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Set standards for design, development, quality, and testing of core ICT systems
- Design and communicate core ICT systems architecture
- Design interoperability and interfaces with other systems on‑premises and in the cloud
- Elicit business, user, and technical needs and translate them into architectural solutions
- Analyse existing systems, applications, and services
- Identify options for potential technical solutions
- Maintain and track architecture throughout the system lifecycle
- Estimate and size development work for core ICT systems and platforms
- Contribute to system design, testing, quality assurance, and change management
- Prepare system documentation and deliver architectural presentations
- Lead development teams and support development processes
- Select and evaluate technologies
- Collect and interpret system metrics
- Optimise systems from performance, security, and quality perspectives
- Contribute to the Enterprise Architecture repository, including ICT baseline and technology catalogues
Required Profile & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- ICT Infrastructure Architect – Advanced level
- Proven experience as key architect in at least two enterprise-wide ICT systems migration or deployment projects
- Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- University degree at EQF Level 7 (Master’s level or equivalent)
- Minimum 8 years of IT relevant professional experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position
Technical Knowledge
Mandatory
- Hybrid systems architecture
- Enterprise-level core ICT systems design
- Capacity and security planning for integration platforms
- Virtualisation, containerisation, on‑premises and cloud infrastructure
- Identity Management and Active Directory
- Microsoft System Center
- Databases, application servers, middleware, and monitoring solutions
- Modern workplace solutions
- Cloud integration patterns and cloud migration frameworks
- Systems integration, software and asset management
- UML-based system design
- ICT process design and implementation according to ITIL v4
- Systems modelling tools (e.g. Sparx Enterprise Architect, ARIS Architect)
- DevSecOps principles
- Enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, Azure Well‑Architected Framework)
Desirable:
- Experience with modelling in ArchiMate
- Experience designing, configuring, and maintaining Azure or AWS Landing Zones
Security Requirements

- EU personal security clearance required
- Minimum clearance level: RESTREINT UE / EU RESTRICTED
- Security screening procedure to be initiated within the first 45 days of assignment
- Certificate of Good Conduct (not older than 3 months)
Engagement Terms
- Freelance-based engagement under a Framework Contract
- Full-time assignment (40 hours/week)
- Initial allocation of 220 man-days over 12 months
- Possibility of extensions
