We are looking for Senior Java Developer – Remote
Project Background
The project focuses on the development of enterprise-grade systems based on microservices architecture supporting European-level operations and information exchange.
Development is already in progress, with ongoing design and delivery phases. Teams operate in an Agile (Scrum) setup with 2-week iterations, including demos, peer reviews, and continuous integration practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise-level Java applications and microservices
- Implement backend services ensuring scalability, performance, and security
- Develop REST APIs and integrations with internal/external systems
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
- Write clean, high-quality, secure code following best practices
- Perform unit and integration testing (including validation mechanisms)
- Implement authentication mechanisms (e.g. OAUTH)
- Work with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Collaborate in Agile Scrum teams (planning, estimation, demos)
- Participate in code reviews using Git (pull request workflows)
- Produce technical documentation
- Ensure secure coding, logging, and auditing practices
Required Profile & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- University degree (minimum 3–4 years)
- Minimum 9–10 years of relevant professional experience (depending on degree level)
- At least 6 years of Java development experience (OOP, SOLID principles)
- At least 1 year of experience in biometric/identity management solutions (e.g. fingerprint, face recognition systems)
Technical Knowledge
Mandatory:
- Java 21+
- Spring / Spring Boot / Spring MVC
- REST APIs and microservices architecture
- Relational databases (MS SQL Server) + Hibernate / Spring Data
- Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Git, Maven
- CI/CD tools (TFS / Azure DevOps)
- Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Messaging systems (Kafka, ActiveMQ)
- Frontend basics (JavaScript, jQuery, JSP)
- Modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js, React or Angular)
- Enterprise integration frameworks (Apache Camel / Spring Integration)
- NoSQL / ElasticSearch
- Secure coding practices
Desirable:
- Experience in international/multicultural environments
- Strong communication skills in distributed teams
- Ability to adapt to fast-changing technologies
Language
Working knowledge of English (B2 or higher)
