Description
Background and Objectives:
Specific Contract(s) to provide services of three (3) Microsoft Database Administrators (Standard level) in support of Collaboration Services Team within the Digital Operations Sector / Digital Services Unit at Agancy . The main goal is to establish a service that on a daily basis will support the Collaboration Services Team in the area of databases and business intelligence services of the ICT core infrastructure using Microsoft technologies.
Objectives:
- Administration of complex MS SQL based systems deployed in distributed environments.
2. Scripting MSSQL databases, data transformations and ETL tools.
3. Administration and development of Business Intelligence systems like SSRS, SSIS and Power BI.
4. Optimizing, tuning and planning capacity of database platforms.
5. Monitoring databases and business intelligence services based on MS SCOM.
6. Providing support to end users and other ICT specialists using ticketing systems and ITIL based change management, configuration management and release management processes.
Scope of Tasks:
Task 1 – Core activities:
– Administration and monitoring database management software
– Providing 2nd line support to databases
– Update the technical documentation and operating procedures
– Troubleshooting databases
– Deploying databases
– Extracting, transforming and loading data
– Planning capacity and availability of databases, tuning and optimizing databases
– Implementing changes according to ICT change management procedures
– Database monitoring and tuning
– Database incident management
– Other specific duties as assigned by Agancy Project Manager
Task 2 – 2nd line support:
– Handling incidents and service requests escalated from 1st line support
– Troubleshooting reported incidents and problems
– Registering and tracking tickets in the relevant 3rd line support
– Updating status of open requests in the ticketing system in a timely manner
– Reporting on activities
Requirements
- Minimum education at the Level 6 (Essential)
- Minimum English language skills at the Level B2 (Essential)
- Minimum IT relevant professional experience of 5 years (Essential)
- Minimum experience relevant to the profile or at similar position of 3 years (Essential)
- Active EU security clearance at Confidential level (or higher) (Essential)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (Essential)
- Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (Essential)
- Experienced in administration of complex MS SQL based systems deployed in distributed environments (Mandatory)
- Expert in optimizing, tuning and planning capacity of databases (Mandatory)
- Experience in scripting MS SQL databases, data transformations and ETL tools including cloud services (Mandatory)
- Experience in design, implementation and maintenance Microsoft Business Intelligence on-premises tools and services (Mandatory)
- Experience in design, implementation and maintenance Microsoft Fabric tools and services (Mandatory)
- Hands-on Experience in monitoring systems (Mandatory)
- Hands-on Experience in administering virtual infrastructure (Mandatory)
- Basic Knowledge in administering other Microsoft systems (Mandatory)
- A proactive attitude, team-work spirit, being self-motivated with a strong user orientation (Mandatory)
- Able to cope with the fast changing technologies (Mandatory)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technologies, technical and business concepts to multiple audiences (Mandatory)
- Experience in woking in Restricted environments (Nice to have)
- Knowledge of DBPlus Performance Monitor application (Nice to have)
- Creating and managing Always On deployments (Nice to have)
- Mastery of recovery models (Full, Simple, Bulk-Logged) and disaster recovery methodologies (Nice to have)
- Expertise in using tools like SQL Profiler, Execution Plans, and Dynamic Management Views (DMVs) to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks (Nice to have)
